Woolf says she used to be a 'proud' Londoner

Sadiq Khan was blasted in a furious rant on GB News by broadcaster Emma Woolf.

Speaking to Mark Dolan, the commentator said the Mayor of London has gone about “destroying” her home city, and her love for it has deteriorated as a result.

“I’m a proud Londoner and I don’t hate my country”, she said.

“I love my country but I did love my country more. I loved my city. My home of London, before Sadiq Khan began to destroy it.”

Mark said he “completely agreed” with the point, adding: “I don’t see why we can’t be proud of being not even British, but being English.

“It can be that local. Why can’t we be proud of being English if we’re not from England?

“So many other countries are proud of their national identity, including neighbouring countries like Wales and Scotland, and rightly so.

“Somehow it’s seen as slightly xenophobic, or slight racist, to be proud of being English. I don’t get it.”

The Mayor of London recently sparked controversy by weighing in on the US election, telling Americans “the world is watching”.

"What I’d say in a respectful way to Americans is: I don’t think you realise that the rest of the world is watching because we’ve got skin in the game," Khan said in an interview with Politico.

"What happens in America is the metronome… that sets the beat of what happens across the globe.

"It sets the beat for how other politicians behave in an election campaign."

Khan has been engaged in public feuds with Trump in there past and has openly branded him a racist, a sexist and a homophobe.

"Make sure you’re registered to vote and make sure you vote," Khan said this week.

"Because the election that happens on Nov. 5, in my view, is the most important election in my lifetime."
